The Yolo County Search and Rescue Team (Yolo SAR) is an independent, tax-exempt organization that recruits, trains, and deploys search and rescue volunteers. 

Yolo SAR is actively recruiting new members and we encourage prospective applicants to submit an application. 

Who we are:

Team members are unpaid volunteers that are on-call 24 hours a day and are prepared for urban and wilderness searches in Yolo County. Deployment of volunteers on search and rescue operations is subject to individual member availability. 

The team has a Board of Directors and coordinates operations with the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department . 


Training:

The team receives training in various tactics and methods of search, rescue, human tracking, land navigation, rope rescue, incident command system, search management, first aid, survival, and support functions.
